1. Acceptance of Terms & Scope

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you (“Customer”, “Buyer”, or “User”) and Orange City Batteries (“OCB”, “Dealership”, “we”, or “us”). By accessing our website (ocbnagpur.in), ordering products or doorstep technician services, requesting quotations, or delivering batteries to our workshop for diagnostics, you expressly agree to abide by these Terms.

Orange City Batteries is an authorized retail supplier and auto-electrical service center in Nagpur for leading storage battery manufacturers including Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited (Amaron) and Exide Industries Limited (Exide and SF Batteries). All transactions are subject to these Terms as well as the respective manufacturer’s published warranty regulations.

2. Pricing, Invoicing & Quotations

All battery purchases and workshop repairs are processed under transparent commercial guidelines:

• GST Billing: In accordance with statutory Indian taxation law, all lead-acid automotive, commercial, and inverter storage batteries are invoiced with applicable 28% Goods and Services Tax (GST under HSN Code 8507). Workshop auto-electrical labor and diagnostic services are invoiced at 18% GST (SAC 9987).
• Net Pricing vs. MRP: Price estimates and advertised website rates generally reflect the Net Payable Price calculated after deducting the exchange discount for a customer’s old scrap battery of equivalent AH capacity.
• Quotation Validity: Official estimates and digital quotations issued via our staff system are valid for seven (7) calendar days from generation, subject to fluctuating lead metal commodity rates and manufacturer price updates.

3. Old Scrap Battery Buyback & Environmental Compliance

Lead-acid batteries contain hazardous electrolytes and toxic heavy metals. Orange City Batteries strictly complies with the Battery Waste Management Rules (BWMR), 2022 established by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB):

• Core Exchange Discount: When an order is placed at the exchange-discounted price, the customer agrees to surrender an old lead-acid battery of comparable physical group size and ampere-hour (AH) rating to our technician at the time of delivery.
• Incomplete Handover: If the customer chooses to retain the old battery or provides a significantly smaller capacity unit, the net payable amount will be adjusted to the standard retail price without scrap credit.
• Certified Recycling Channels: All discarded lead-acid batteries collected by OCB are channelized strictly to authorized registered smelters and official manufacturer closed-loop recycling plants (Exide and Amaron green recycling streams) to avoid environmental contamination.

4. Manufacturer Warranty Policies & Claim Procedures

Storage batteries are manufactured and warranted by their respective corporate entities (Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd for Amaron; Exide Industries Ltd for Exide and SF Batteries). Orange City Batteries acts as an authorized retail facilitator and service center:

Warranty Verification & Claim Conditions:

• Digital Paperless Warranty: When registered at purchase, claims do not require a physical paper booklet; presenting your registered mobile number, vehicle registration number, and the battery serial number is sufficient.
• Free Replacement (FOC): If the battery develops an internal manufacturing defect (shorted cell, open circuit) within the free replacement window, it will be replaced free of charge with an identical or equivalent model per OEM policy.
• Pro-Rata Settlement: During the pro-rata period, credit is calculated based on the prevailing Maximum Retail Price (MRP) at the time of claim against months consumed, as illustrated in our interactive Warranty Calculator.
• Commercial Applications: Batteries installed in commercial vehicles, metered taxis, fleet carriers, ride-share vehicles, or driving school fleets carry a maximum manufacturer warranty of twelve (12) months, regardless of the retail packaging label.

Warranty Exclusions (Voiding Criteria):

Manufacturer warranties are strictly voided under the following conditions:

• Tampered or Missing Serial Numbers: Any defacement, removal, or alteration of the barcode sticker, heat-stamped date code, or serial label.
• Physical Container Damage: Cracked plastic containers, broken covers, or punctured casing caused by impacts, improper hold-down clamp overtightening, or external trauma.
• Terminal Post Melt-Down: Melted, burned, or severed positive/negative lead posts caused by loose cable clamp connections, excessive electrical arcing, or hammering onto terminals.
• Overcharging & Bulging: Distorted or swollen battery cases resulting from a defective vehicle alternator voltage regulator charging beyond 14.5V.
• Sulfation & Deep Discharge: Plates hardened by prolonged neglect, parasitic vehicle electrical drain, or vehicle dormancy exceeding 30 days without booster charging.
• Electrolyte Tampering: Addition of unapproved acid, well water, tap water, or chemical rejuvenating additives instead of laboratory-grade battery distilled water.
• Mismatched Application: Installing an automotive SLI battery in a home inverter or solar power storage setup, or undersizing the AH rating below original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications.

5. Doorstep Delivery & Installation Services

Orange City Batteries provides 30-minute rapid technician dispatch across Nagpur (including Pardi, Surya Nagar, Wardhaman Nagar, Nandanvan, Dharampeth, Sadar, Sitabuldi, and Hingna):

• Site Accessibility: Customers must ensure technician access to the vehicle or inverter installation area in a secure, well-ventilated, and well-lit environment.
• Vehicle Electrical Readiness: Our technicians carry computerized battery analyzers and digital multimeters. We perform complimentary alternator charging and starter cranking voltage diagnostics upon installation. If severe vehicle short-circuits or chewed wiring harnesses are identified, our technician reserves the right to withhold installation until wiring hazards are remediated.
• Morning Emergency Service: Emergency dispatches between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM are offered to assist stranded commuters and fleet operators. Emergency response times may vary based on traffic conditions and weather events.

6. Auto-Electrical Workshop Services (Starter & Alternator)

Auto-electrical component repair (alternator diode plate replacement, rewinding, starter solenoid, and Bendix drive overhauls) is performed at our Surya Nagar workshop:

• Bench Testing: All repaired alternators and self-starter motors undergo computerized bench load testing prior to customer handover or vehicle re-installation.
• Workshop Warranty: Replaced internal components (rectifiers, brushes, solenoids) carry a thirty (30) day workshop service guarantee covering workmanship and defective replacement parts under standard operating conditions.

7. Returns, Cancellations & Refund Policy

Due to the chemical, hazardous, and serial-numbered nature of lead-acid storage batteries:

• Goods Once Sold: Batteries that have been unsealed, clamped to vehicle terminals, filled with electrolyte, or installed are classified as used goods and cannot be returned for cash refunds.
• Pre-Dispatch Cancellation: In-store bookings or doorstep appointments may be cancelled without penalty prior to technician dispatch by calling store dispatch at +91 93254 17265.
• Defective Out-of-Box Units: In the rare event a new battery displays an internal open-circuit or manufacturing fault upon delivery testing, our technician will immediately replace it with another fresh factory-sealed unit before closing the job.

8. Intellectual Property & Trademarks

All brand trademarks, trade names, logos, and model names appearing on this website—including Amaron® (Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd), Exide® (Exide Industries Ltd), SF Batteries®, Luminous®, and vehicle brand names (such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Honda, Mahindra, Hero, Bajaj, and Toyota)—are the registered intellectual property of their respective corporate owners. Their use on this website and in our Battery Fitment Check tool is strictly factual, nominative, and intended for customer product compatibility identification.

9. Limitation of Liability & Nagpur Jurisdiction

Orange City Batteries shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages resulting from vehicle downtime, missed travel schedules, loss of business, or commercial disruption caused by battery failure or delay. Total financial liability under any transaction shall not exceed the invoice price paid by the customer for the specific product or repair service.

Dispute Resolution & Governing Law: All transactions, disputes, claims, or disagreements arising from the sale of goods, repairs, or use of this website shall be governed by the laws of India and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
